In most countries, the peak season for champagne is New Years Eve. But in the Champagne region, it’s celebrated in the summer too!

In what way?
During the Route du Champagne en Fête, an area of the Champagne region takes centre stage, and its local champagne producers get their chance to present their champagnes to the public. The event lasts 2 days and attracts thousands of visitors from around the globe each year. You can taste no less than 80 different champagnes from participating producers.

How does it work?
With your entry pass around your neck and a glass in your hand, walk from vineyard to beautiful vineyard while your glass is refilled. And if you like the champagne, you can buy a bottle (or a case, why not?) right there on the spot. Two days of absolute bliss for your taste buds.

The local councils and producers also organise festivities along the route. Music bands, folklore, local culinary bites, you won’t get bored. And it’s always wonderful to wander around the Champagne area.

Route du Champagne 2017 dates

This year, La Route du Champagne en Fête takes place on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 August. Right in the middle of summer, so the best chance of sunshine! The route is open for 8 hours on each day.
